Northern University Bangladesh

Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) is a government approved private university, which has been sponsored and founded by International Business Agriculture & Technology (IBAT) Trust .The Trust is registered, non-political, non-profit voluntary organization .The members of IBAT Trust who are mostly eminent academics felt the need for a private university to bring quality education within the reach of students with modest economic means.

History: Bangladesh Institute of Business Academy (BIBA) started in 1996 under National University to offer BBA Program and a group of some students (MBAs) took over its management under Institute of Resources Development (IRD) in 1998. IRD students were transferred to International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), Dhaka Campus. Some of IRD’s sponsors established Institute of Business Administration & Technology (IBAT) in1998. From 1999 to 2002 IBAT offered BBA course of National University (NU) and MBA and EMBA courses of Canadian School of Management (CSM) as its study center at Dhaka. Owing to the commitment in providing quality education IBAT established a reputation and was able to obtain support from the alumni to set up NUB. By the grace of Almighty, final approval of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh and Ministry of Education was obtained on 17 October 2002. Thus NUB has started its journey to materialize its vision and mission. NUB is a project of IBAT Trust. The Trust has Northern University Laboratory School, Northern College Bangladesh (NCB) and IBATS other sister educational institutions. The aim of IBAT Trust is to offer “Quality education at an affordable cost”.
