HAC securities Ltd. (HAC) was incorporated in mid 2006 and in a span of 4 years has grown to become one of the leading independent stock brokerage firms operating in capital markets of Bangladesh.
HAC is a corporate member of the Dhaka Stock Exchange Ltd. and a Full Service Depositary Participant of the Central Depository Bangladesh Ltd. (CDBL). HAC is also a stock Dealer and participates in bidding of block subscription of shares for newly listed companies as an ‘Eligible Institutional Investor’.
As a stock brokerage firm, HAC’s business includes executing shares trades on the Dhaka Stock Exchange on behalf of its customers as well as providing all sorts of support services including research materials, statistics and strategy planning to its customers. HAC also provides margin finance to its customers and has the largest margin portfolio for any independent stock brokerage firm using funds from HAC’s own resources.
In May 2006, HAC took over the operations, assets and liabilities of Hamed A. Chowdhury & Co., a proprietorship concern owned by our visionary Chairman Mr. Hamed Ali Chowdhury which held the membership of the Dhaka Exchange Ltd. since 1980.
Since then the capital markets of Bangladesh has grown significantly and along with this there has been phenomenal growth in HAC’s business, in terms of both volume and profitability. To cater for this and to meet the diverse needs of our customers, HAC has transformed itself form a humble beginning as a proprietorship concern to a corporate business house of prominence. A highly efficient back office using the latest and most sophisticated software has been put into place, as well as an ever increasing branch network to reach out to customers nationwide.
